Artist's Statement about this work: This painting, inspired by a picture taken over a year ago, is so representative of the Ukrainian's peoples resolve to save their homeland. They are resilient in spite of everything that is happening to them and their country.

Artist's Statement about this work: When participating in the UWS Arts and the Park event at Capitol Reef, we awoke to about 4 inches of snow. The white blanket didn't last long, but it reminded us that fall was turning quickly to winter. I loved how the snow accented the worn weathered wood on this old structure near Teasdale.

Artist's Statement about this work: Bill Hatch was one of the last of the true old west cowboys. This was his simple ranch cabin located just outside of Scipio, UT. No electricity. No running water. Spring fed pond across the dirt road. It always reminded me of simpler times.

Artist's Statement about this work: This is another view from the Willow Creek trail behind my house and it always fascinates me how different this barn looks at different times of day and in different seasons. There have been mornings when the fog makes the entire scene look like it's in black and white. In this painting, you can feel the summer turn to fall and see the greens give way to yellows as the air grows colder.

Artist's Statement about this work: Similar to the way Degas preferred to paint a ballet rehearsal over the polished performance, I am drawn to behind-the-scenes moments. This is a gardener at Hampton Court outside London. I found her subtle role in the gardens as enchanting as the gardens themselves.

Artist's Statement about this work: This painting is about marriage and light. I love the way these two trees are clinging to each other, practically intertwined. And they are also cleaving to the last vestiges of light as it pours over the mountain tops and floods the valley below. There is so much joy in companionship and togetherness, and especially when we are both drawn toward light.
