Imagine a leisurely stroll along a street on a summer day. People are gathering in conversation groups, walking their dogs, and otherwise enjoying the weather. That is the mood I intended to capture in this painting. It is such an ordinary, everyday scene, but is quite extraordinary when you think of the plight of those who are not able to enjoy such a wonderful activity. I felt compelled to express how extraordinary "ordinary" can be. Besides, I loved the dog!
